Introduction

The Inca Jungle Trek is an unbelievable 3 day alternative tour where you can evolve your experience in adventure sports such as rafting, trekking, biking and zip lining. It also includes some recently discovered Inca paths with archaeological remains, the expansive and towering Abra Malaga Mountain, the deep green valley and the vibrant jungle basin of Santa Maria. The Inca Jungle Trek uses A-1 equipment and the groups are small creating an intimate experience with the natural terrain of Peru.

Briefing between 5pm - 7pm the evening before the trip in our office, explaining all tour details from our guide.


ITINERARY


Day 1:CUSCO - HUYRO (RAFTING & COFFEE TOUR OPTIONAL)

After breakfast, we will travel through picturesque villages and beautiful landscapes until we reach Abra Málaga mountain (4350 masl). We will descend on mountain bikes of higher scale for 3 hours touring rural villages, rivers, orchards and streams that arrive in Huamanmarca, where if we want, we can buy water and sandwiches to finally reach the city of Huyro, where you will enjoy our delicious lunch . Once the lunch is over, the trip will begin by private transport to the town of Santa Teresa where the overnight will be.

Note: If you wish you can go to the hot springs of Cocalmayo with an additional cost.

Schedules day 1:

  • 05:40 - 06:15 Pick up each passengers from their respective hotels around of the historic center of cusco.
  • 06:15 - 06:30 Pick up the biking equipment for the first activity.
  • 06:30 - 08:30 We started the tour by private bus from Cusco to Ollantaytambo.
  • 08:30 - 09:00 Break for bathrooms.
  • 09:00 - 10:00 From ollantaytambo to abra malaga mountain.
  • 10:00 - 13:00 Starting the Down hill in biking from abra malaga by the Quillabamba way (on the paved road) to Huamanmarka.
  • 13:00 - 14:00 Lunch in Huyro.
  • 14:00 - 18:00 trip to Santa Teresa

Day 2: SANTA TERESA (ZIPLINE OPTIONAL) – AGUAS CALIENTES

After we begin the day with a good breakfast, we will continue exploring the roads less travelled. We will start at the town of Santa Teresa. The passengers that reserved in advance will go ziplining (later they will be taken by bus to the hydroelectric), the rest of the group will continue hiking for approx. 3 hr. until reaching the hydroelectric too, where the whole group will gather. Here we will have a great lunch. After a break, the journey will continue along the path for 3 hr., going through waterfalls, coca and coffee farms until arriving at the town of Aguas Calientes. The group will be taken to the hostel around 4 pm. At night we will all get together in a restaurant to have a great dinner and have a briefing about the trek to Machu Picchu.

Schedules day 2:

  • 07:00 - 08:00 Breakfast in Santa Teresa.
  • 08:00 - 11:00 Trekking from Santa teresa to Hydroelectric.
  • 12:00 - 13:00 Lunchtime.
  • 13:00 - 13:30 Break time.
  • 13:30 - 16:00 Trekking from Hydroelectric to Aguas Calientes( Machu Picchu town ).
  • 16:00 - 17:00 Accommodation.
  • 17:00 - 19:00 Free time to visit the town and be able to do the shopping for the next day.
  • 19:00 - 19:30 Dinner and having a rest in hostel within Aguas Calientes.

Day 3: Aguas Calientes - Citadela Inca of Machu Picchu - Cusco

This time we will get up around 4:00am to have breakfast and leave at 4:30am, heading toward the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, walking approximately 1 hour and a half. The goal is to see the sunrise from the Inca site and be the first to arrive. Then we will take in the beautiful Machu Picchu with our professional guide, finishing the tour with some free time for you to explore. After visiting Machu Picchu, at about 11:00am we return by walking (2 hours) to the Hydroelectric where our bus (15:00pm) waits to return to the city of Cusco, arriving around 9:00pm.

Note: There is possibility to spend one more night in Machu Picchu town paying $30 extra, and return next day.

Schedules day 3:

  • 04:00 - 04:20 Wake up all passengers for the last day.
  • 04:20 - 06:00 Start Trekking to see the spectacular sunrise in the citadel of Machu Picchu.
  • 06:00 - 08:30 Our group will have a private guided tour in the Inca citadel of machupicchu.
  • 08:30 - 10:00 Free time to enjoy Machu Picchu on their own.
  • 10:00 - 11:30 The group will descend walking to Aguas Calientes.
  • 11:30 - 13:00 walk to the Hidroelectrica for the departure time to Cusco.
  • 15:00 - 20:40 returning from Hidroelectrica by bus to Cusco.
