ITINERARY

Day 1: Sacred valley

The tour begins at 8:30am when we will pick you up from your Cusco Hotel. We will then travel by private transportation to the archaeological site of Pisac located 45 minutes from Cusco. Pisac gives us an insight into the advanced knowledge and thinking of the Incans in terms of architecture, building platforms, agriculture, ceremonies and the exploitation of water for agriculture. The other reason to visit Pisac is the artisanal market where we can find unique and authentic handcrafted items. At midday we will head towards the town of Urubamba where we will have a delicious buffet lunch and you’ll have the opportunity to try traditional Peruvian food. Urubamba was one of the principal centres of agriculture in the Incan empire. After lunch we will continue to the fortress town of Ollantaytambo, this Incan city served as an important religious, political and agricultural place. Ollantaytambo is the only Incan city which maintained its original design. It is from Ollantaytambo that we take the train to Aguas Calientes. The next day we will visit Machu Picchu early.
