Ayahuasca is a sacred plant from the Amazon and it is considered as the main element of spiritual connection between more than 75 different ethnic groups of Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Brasil, and it dates back to more than 5000 years ago. Ayahuasca is a compound of two main elements: a vine named Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsi Caapi) and a bush named chacruna (Psycotria Viridis). Ayahuasca is a visionary plant, not a hallucinogenic one, and is often referred to as a ''medicine for the soul''. It opens our consciousness and heart and helps us reconnect with our deepest inner self and the most profound aspects of reality. It has purifying properties for the body as well as for the soul. It also helps people get out of the worst types of addiction such as alcohol, tobacco, heorine etc. It is important to clarify the difference between this type of plants and drugs. Using Ayahuasca in the right, controlled context has no downsides, and is not an addictive practice. The Ceremony This shamanic experience takes place in a welcoming and intimate ambience. At the beginning a short explanation is given to all participants in order to make them feel at ease and clarify any possible doubts and questions they might have. By taking this sacred plant, you will get into a state of total openness of conscience and you will be able to have a much clearer view of both the inner and the outer world. This leads us to a greater understanding of ourselves, to see new paths, to resolve conflicts, to cure and diagnose diseases, to receive clarity when we need to make important decisions, to ask for advice from the gods, to communicate with the spirits of nature, with your guides and/or connect deeply with your higher selves. The experience is accompanied and enhanced with drum sounds and soul music (not only Amazonian) which contribute to create a subtle inner alchemy. The Shaman, the guide of the ceremony A shaman is considered a man of power, respect and wisdom. With a lot of training and discipline he has acquired the ability to be a presence in the world while navigating the limits of other worlds or states of consciousness at the same time. Albert, our guide to the ceremony, began his shamanic approach to traditional shamanic techniques in 1985. In the Peruvian Amazon he has maintained contact with leaders and shamans of a number of ethnic groups such as Campas, Shipibos, Matshiguengas, Watchipaires and Ashaninkas, as well as Brazilian adepts of the Santo Daime and Unió do vegetao. He is also a naturopathic doctor and a psychologist.
