Duration:  2 days and 1 night Location:   cusco / peru start time:  08:30:00
Daily departures visits:  Sacred Valley of the Incas, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu

Day 1: Sacred valley

The tour begins at 8:30am when we will pick you up from your Cusco Hotel. We will then travel by private transportation to the archaeological site of Pisac located 45 minutes from Cusco. Pisac gives us an insight into the advanced knowledge and thinking of the Incans in terms of architecture, building platforms, agriculture, ceremonies and the exploitation of water for agriculture. The other reason to visit Pisac is to visit the artisanal market where we can find unique and authentic items. At midday we will head towards the town of Urubamba where we will have a delicious buffet lunch and have the opportunity to try traditional Peruvian food. Urubamba was one of the principal centres of agriculture in the Incan empire. After lunch we will continue to the fortress town of Ollantaytambo, this Incan city served as an important religious, political and agricultural place. Ollantaytambo is the only Incan city which maintains its original design.
It is from Ollantaytambo that we take the train to Aguas Calientes. The next day we will visit Machu Picchu early.

Day 2: Machu Picchu

We visit the site of Machu Picchu this day! We will take a bus from the bus station, approximately 20 minutes duraton, to arrive at Machu Picchu. It is also possible to trek there (optional), which takes approximately 1 hour. On the Machu Picchu site, we wll visit Huaynapicchu, a small mountain with breathtaking views making for an unforgettable experience. There are 2 groups available, at 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. To the summit of Huaynapicchu is approximately a 1 hour walk. Afterwards there is a two hour guided tour of the Historic Site of Machu Picchu (Historical sancturary of Machu Picchu). Finally we must depart the site, taking the bus returning to Aguas Clientes. At Aguas Calientes we will board the train to Ollantaytambo, and then onto Cusco by bus.
