The hot springs of Santa Teresa district are in Cocalmayo, southwest of the province of the Convention in Cusco. The access to the spa is at kilometer 135 of the former railroad Cusco - Quillabamba, on the left bank of the Urubamba River at 1600 m.a.s.l.

It was build on the slope of the mountain and on the edges of Urubamba River. The thermal water complex has three pools of different sizes and depths, its medicinal water supply varies between 40 º C and 44 º C. It differs mainly from the other hot springs of Peru for its clear waters. These waters have medicinal properties to treat skin ulcers, bone pain and rheumatism. In the thermal baths also the traveler can be placed under cold jets from the Uripata gaps, it provide a comforting feeling.

At the bottom of the pools there is soft sand and around there are rocks, vegetation, mountains and the sound of the river. Santa Teresa hot springs are fully equipped with restrooms, showers, locker rooms, soccer fields, camping space, coffee, kiosk and a gazebo. It also has a whirlpool system. Is a nice place to rest after long walks as a tours of Machu Picchu and Choquequirao.

The baths are open 24 hours a day for the people can enjoy the starry nights inside the pools, which is amazing because at the stars reflected in the clear water like a mirror.
